A Massive, Warm 'Hello' from Charlotte!

Hello! Some of you may have spoken to me already but for those of you who haven't, I'm Charlotte! I'm new to Skyros and I have already got to know a few regular Skyros participants, which has been lovely! I'm heading out to Atsitsa at the end of June and I cannot contain my excitement. Hopefully I'll see some of you out there too and we can dance the nights away in true Skyros style.

Our very first Skyros event in Greece this year is the Goat Festival, coming up at the end of February. Below I'll talk more about the Goat Festival. If you would like to join us for this very special and unique event, then call me on 01983 865 566 or email me at office@skyros.com and I'd be happy to talk you through the details.

With my very best wishes,

Charlotte Brimstone

Skyros Goat Festival - 20 to 24 February

This celebration culminates in a heady mix of non-stop partying by day and a 48 hour explosion of revelry and a carnival parade by night. Men dressed in goat bells whirl frenetically around in order to bring on the Spring. Half human, half animal, they dance in the streets, joined by the entire community in a frenzy of dance and good-humoured make merry!

Price: £395 including four nights half board accommodation in Skyros village and local talks and visits.
Travel: You can reach Skyros island by taking the Aegean Airline's flight leaving Athens Friday 20th February at 11:40am reaching Skyros Island at 12:20pm.

Want to stay longer? An extra night in the Skyros Centre is only £45 a night.

This enchanting getaway treats you with a stay at our delightful Skyros Centre. Built high up to evade the clutches of Mediterranean pirates, the village is accessible only by foot through narrow, cobblestoned streets. Here you can take some time for yourself. There is plenty of time to explore the island, stroll along the sandy beaches and enjoy visiting the local tavernas and cafes.

Michael Eales will be hosting this short break at the Skyros Centre. A psychologist, writer and leadership coach for 30 years, Michael knows Skyros very well and will be able to tell you much about its traditions. He also co-wrote the film Inertia with Anna Campion and he also acted in it. Below is Anna Campion's mini-film of the Goat Festival.

Watch this fascinating film put together by Anna Campion. It's from the 2012 Greek Goat Festival in Skyros. The Goat Festival brings together the entire community and you can be part of it. Book yourself onto this wild retreat before the places are gone. Watch the video here.
